A rescue application is a form plus proof: a lease, a pay stub, a veterinary reference, sometimes a spouse’s ID. Shelters ask whether animals are allowed and whether someone is home during the day. Applicants then scan a full lease that includes a Social Security line, a roommate’s name, and a landlord’s bank instructions for rent ACH. Pay stubs add routing numbers. Who at the shelter, a foster, and a roommate sees the application
A volunteer coordinator forwards “the packet” to a foster for a home visit. The foster needed the address and whether a yard exists. The packet still had a pay stub with a routing number and a lease with a Social Security line. Before that forward happens, the applicant should have marked those fields, or the coordinator should refuse unmarked packets. Fosters keep PDFs on personal phones. A leftover routing number in those downloads is still a routing number.
A landlord is asked by the rescue to confirm pets are allowed. The applicant emails the landlord a copy of the application “so they know what to say.” The application lists a personal reference’s cell and a workplace. The applicant covers those extras on the landlord copy, leaves the pet-policy question, and does not turn the landlord into a holder of a workplace number. Landlords forward to property managers; property managers file things.
Two partners apply together. One partner’s pay stub is only for household income. The other partner’s family still should not see that stub. The couple marks accounts on the copy that goes to a parent who is only driving to the meet-and-greet, and avoids a family thread with stubs attached.

Including a child’s school schedule to prove someone is home in the afternoon. A school name plus a child is a map. Use a sentence on the form instead, or cover the school and the child’s name if you must attach a PDF.
Messaging unmarked stubs through the rescue’s Instagram DMs. Mark first in the browser. DMs should only receive the copy that failed a search for the routing number.
