The core form lists household members, relationships, income sources, and resource questions. State portals may append verification checklists, wage proofs, and identity scans into one download. Identity exhibits — driver’s licenses, Social Security cards, immigration documents — should not ride unmarked into a helper inbox if the helper only needs the application face pages. Cover document numbers and barcodes that are not required for that share.

How to flatten a helper or advocacy copy

1. Decide who will receive this file. A co-filing relative, a legal aid clinic, an advocacy organization, and your personal records folder are different audiences. Cover more for informal shares. Keep a complete labeled original for the state portal or mail channel.

Blacking out a printout, then scanning it back. The marker hides paper. The new PDF can still carry OCR, or you may later attach the unmarked digital original. Permanent redaction is a burned-in region on the file you send, then a search to prove the string is gone.
